Toure said: “We have more resolve about us now. We are defending a lot better as a team than we did last season. That’s the key thing.
“We are playing every two or three days now. It’s really hard and to get one point out of the game is good for the rest of the season.
“We would have settled for being four points ahead by this stage at the start of the campaign.
“In August, everybody was certain that we wouldn’t be top of the league but I think we’ve proved a few people wrong.
“It’s good to be like that. Sometimes when people think a lot of you, then you can struggle to live up to that and it can turn bad.
“But we just focus on our game. United aren’t our only rivals — a lot of teams can make it, look at Manchester City.
“Nobody is talking about them but they are doing a really good job. Chelsea and Liverpool are doing a lot of good things too.”
