United face Spanish side Villarreal in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
“Whenever we lost a game last season we came back and showed ourselves to be stronger,” said Tevez.
“That was the reason we won two titles last year. I am sure we will see a reaction from the players tonight.
“It is always important to try and win something again. It shows the strength of your team if you can go and defend your title.”
