The Italian giants have recently been linked with a move for the Dutch midfielder, but Galliani insists that they are not interested in the 33-year-old.
“Van Bommel is an important player, but we are interested in him,” Galliani stated to Sky Sport 24. “We are not interested because of his advanced age.
“We have no need to be reinforcing our defence, but will only go onto the market if the right opportunity arises. As for the attack, everything is settled as is and [Filippo] Inzaghi will return in March from injury.
“The transfer market closes on January 31, and I doubt we can repeat the feats of signing [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and Robinho during the current market.”
