The Sun reports that Carroll was discussed as the two clubs held talks over Alberto Aquilani’s return to Anfield.
Pier Silvio Berlusconi, the son of AC Milan owner Silvio, revealed last Wednesday that he would be interested in bringing Carroll to the San Siro.
He said: “This is a new era for Milan.
“We will continue to get younger while maintaining the culture.
“Milan still has its superstars but I’d like to have Carroll at Milan. I was impressed with his strength and his headed goal against Sweden.”
Silvio Berlusconi is reportedly considering taking his son’s advice and make a move for Carroll this summer.
