Jose Rodriguez Baster said: “Last summer I told (president Jose Maria) Del Nido that he was wrong not having sold Daniel. This summer he told me that I was the one who was mistaken. We will now see what happens. The market is crazy.”
He added: “Daniel’s buyout clause is abusive. If the great clubs cannot pay it and Daniel must put all his money in a bank for 50 years to pay it then what is it? Abusive or non-abusive?”
