Inter boss Jsoe Mourinho left Santon out of the squad for the win over Livorno on Sunday.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a loan move away from the club in the January transfer window.
“I think all eyes are on the lad this season, because he needs to confirm his qualities and there is more pressure on him,” Morabito told Controcampo.
“Everyone is ready to come down on him. For instance, he made a mistake in Genova that he had already committed last term, but nobody had said anything because they were all captivated by this lad.
“Santon is obviously an excellent player, he has great qualities and is an asset for Italian football.
“A loan move to play at the World Cup? I don’t think so. I reckon he is better off staying at Inter and being managed by Mourinho.
“The Portuguese did likewise with [Mario] Balotelli and got him back on track. So, Davide would do well to stay in Nerazzurro.”
