De Boer hailed Manchester United target Stekelenburg as ‘one of the best goalkeepers in the world’.
“Both teams really did not want to lose this game and that was clear to see on the pitch. The gap with PSV would have become very big if we lost the game. That’s why we started the match very organized at the back,” said De Boer to Eredivisie Live.
“It was a difficult match for both teams. The defenders got a lot of time to build up play, but there was simply no space after crossing the half-way line. PSV are very dangerous on the counter-attack, so we didn’t want to take any risks.
“I think that 0-0 is a deserved result and I can live with the final score. We are very fortunate to have one of the best goalkeepers in the world with Maarten Stekelenburg.”
