Villa has been linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer.
“Villa is at the same level as Cristiano [Ronaldo] and better than [Karim] Benzema,” Albelda told AS.
“They [Madrid] are investing a lot of money because they said they wanted to ‘hispanicise’ the team, but they cannot pay exorbitant prices for foreigners yet expect a reasonable figure for Spaniards.
“They are the champions of Europe and they should be highly valued. And if you compare Villa with those Madrid have already invested in, he too should only be allowed to leave for a extravagant amount.”
