The Blues defender has spent the time on loan while acquiring a work permit, says the Sunday Mirror.

“When I left Santos I knew it was Chelsea who wanted me, but because of my passport and my lack of international matches I could not move directly to England.
“In Holland I’ve worked with Guus Hiddink, which was great, and Ronald Koeman, who won every trophy in his career with Ajax, PSV and Barcelona.
“I am only 24 years old and the best period of my career is only just ahead of me now.”
