The 22-year-old joined Aberdeen from Birmingham in 2007 and the clubs has offered the winger a new contract.
But the youngster has reportedly already told his agent to find him a new club in England.
Brown said: “There have been no offers for Sone but if players are not willing to stay I will bring in strong replacements.
“Sone was made a very good offer which we hoped would persuade him to remain here because he is very popular with our fans as he is the type of player who can entertain.
“Unfortunately, it looks as if he could go at the end of the season. If he does we will be entitled to compensation.
“He has been very honest and said he would like to return to England as homesickness is a factor. Money is not an issue as he would like to be back near to his home in Birmingham.”
Aberdeen are entitled to £200,000 compensation for Aluko, should he leave the club.
