Alves joined Barcelona from Sevilla in the summer of 2008.
The 28-year-old’s current contract with Barcelona is set to expire in the summer of 2015.
“It is my objective to retire at Barcelona,” Alves told Sport.
“I want to extend my stay here as long as possible and want to continue to fight for silverware.
“However, you never know what happens in football. One day a transfer is not even an option, and the next day you can be on the move. I intend to retire at Barca, though.”
