Ameobi said: “Kieron’s an England international and it’s so important for us to have players of his calibre available and in the team.
“We have missed him so much over the last year or so. We all know about all his attributes and we know what a huge asset he can be to the team and, as we all saw at the weekend.
“He’s such a livewire and he brings so much to our team. I’m absolutely delighted for him because he has been through so much, both on and off the pitch, and it’s great to see him out there.”
He added: “Every team needs pace, that’s so important to us.
“But it’s not just about his pace. His footballing brain is vital to us. He’s so clever on the ball and he creates space for himself and for other people. Kieron’s a real impact player for us and it’s great to see him back out there.”
