The Under-21 international joined Roma from Inter in 2007, but has spent his time with the Giallorossi so far on loan to Sassuolo.
But now Andreolli feels it is time to impress at the Stadio Olimpico.
“I know Roma are following my progress and I think I will return there,” Andreolli said in the Corriere dello Sport.
“Then I will be able to play alongside my friend Motta. I am very happy for him because he made a very good start and went from sitting on the Udinese bench to playing for Roma.
“However, it won’t be easy to earn a starting shirt in Rome because Juan and Philippe Mexes are the current centre-backs.
“In my opinion Roma are so complete on so many fronts that it would be positive even to be the first-choice reserve.”
