Angel told Sky Sports News: “The atmosphere in here was not good and some of the players weren’t happy.
“We felt we needed a change but we never expected that it was going to be a change of manager that quickly because it happened within a week or so.”
“In football, you never take anything for granted. But I didn’t want another season like the last one.
“I wanted to feel appreciated and wanted to be part of the team again and not feel like I did last year.
“One thing that has changed is that he [O’Neill] has lifted our confidence and we have been playing different football.”
