Arsenal boss pleased with win over Wolves

A brace from forward Marouance Chamakh secured the three points for the Gunners at the Molineux.

Wenger told Sky Sports: “It was a very difficult night against a very good Wolves side.

“We had a good start and it was difficult as well because we couldn’t take our chances and a few times we were lucky in the second half, especially in set pieces and our keeper made some great saves but Wolves is a very good side, I’ve seen that at Man United, I’ve seen that again tonight, they’re a team that can take points against everybody.”

Wenger admitted he was unhappy that his side failed to take their chances against Wolves.

He said: “Yes but I think we were under pressure tonight so we wanted to force it a little bit on our chances and that’s why I believe we didn’t take our second chance (until right at the death).

“But overall, vital it was for us the three points tonight and we’ve shown a great spirit, great determination.

“It was today more on fighting maybe than on playing but we have show we can fight as well.”
