The Gunners managed a convincing 4-1 win over AZ Alkmaar on Wednesday, following two goals by Fabregas, and one each from Samir Nasri and Abou Diaby.
But Fabregas insists he is not thinking of the knockout stages.
“It is not definite so we’ll have to keep working until the end,” he told Sky Sports.
“Even if we had qualified today we would have wanted to win and have gone for the six points. That is our mentality.”
“It’s just the beginning of the season, nothing is done, we want to keep going until the end,” Fabregas added.
“I’ll feel it is something special when we win something.
“We want to win and if we win something at the end we will say we had a good year.
“We can still do better so we’ll try to improve in the next few games.”
