The 22-year-old is highly regarded in France and Arsenal scouts have recommended the midfielder to manager Arsene Wenger.
Rennes are reportedly prepared to sell the midfielder for around £8million.
The midfielder has also been linked with the likes of CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow.
