The Daily Mirror reports that Wenger watched Halliche in action for Algeria against England in the World Cup, while working for French TV station TF1.
Wenger was impressed by the defender’s performance and is now keeping an close eye on the 23-year-old.
The defender has been loaned out by Portuguese giants Benfica in recent seasons.
