The £16million-rated Portugal star has been tracked by both clubs for a year and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was close to making a move for him on transfer window deadline-day.
Veloso’s representative Paulo Barbosa said: “Arsenal are looking at Veloso for the future and it’s possible a deal can be sone for January. We will also know then what will happen with Manchester United.
“Arsenal and United are both always watching Veloso and making observations. He would cost either club at least 20million euros.”
