The Daily Star reports that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in the 28-year-old in January as cover for Olivier Giroud.
Wenger considered making a move for Ba last summer after having failed to sign the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema.
Ba has failed to make the expected impact at Chelsea since joining the club from Newcastle United.
