The Spaniard has been out of action with a knee injury since the 1-1 draw with Sunderland earlier this season.
Fabregas has returned to training and Wenger is hopeful the midfielder could be included in his squad for the Chelsea game.
He told the club’s official website: “Cesc has started to run so we have to monitor his progress in the week and there is a little hope there he will be available [for Sunday].”
