The 21-year-old was forced to undergo an appendix operation after sustaining an injury ahead of the clash at Blackburn on Sunday.
A statement on the club’s official website confirmed: “Marc Albrighton has undergone an operation to remove his appendix, which will rule him out of action for three to four weeks.”
Albrighton recently signed a new deal that will keep him at Villa until the summer of 2014.
