Villa manager Martin O’Neill told the club’s website: “That was a big set-back for him. It was so frustrating because he was doing very well. Now, if he makes anything like the impact he did last season I will be delighted.
“You know that he is capable of just making things happen. He didn’t get long against Leicester City in the cup game (last ten minutes) and then suddenly bang!
“But it was definitely not as severe as the first time, although it was in almost exactly the same position. We’ll see how he is for Saturday. I wouldn’t rule him out.”
