Bent scored England’s first goal while his Aston Villa team-mate Ashley Young sealed the win for the Three Lions.
“I was happy to get 90 minutes today,” he told Sky Sports News.
“Fabio thought it was right to start me today and I managed to get a goal and I was pleased with the performance.”
He continued: “Since I have been at Villa things have been going right. Fabio told me it has helped my England chances by going to Villa and that was proved today by starting me.”
“The guys who came on, Ashley Young particularly did great,” he said.
“Ashley has been showing that since I have been at Villa and he has been brilliant, and these are the type of performances we need to put in if we want to play for England.
“Denmark are a good side and play good football, but we coped well.”
