AS says Atletico are hoping to slash at least €15million from their expenses in order to avoid the ill-effects of the financial crisis.
Maniche is currently on a €3million per season deal that expires at the end of the season.
Reports claim the club are not looking to extend the Portuguese midfielder’s contract.
Atletico are also eager to sell at least six players who are out on loan this season. They are Jose Antonio Reyes, Ze Castro, Cleber Santana, Jurado, Diego Costa and Valera.
