The 21-year-old has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Dutch side until the summer of 2014.
Technical director Earnest Stewart told AZ’s official website: “We are satisfied with Johann’s development.
“He is very close to becoming a first-team regular. We believe he has plenty of potential and is a great asset to AZ.”
