Balbo has been out of action since he left Treviso in March, just a month after joining the club.
He told Mediterraneonline.it: “I’m waiting for an opportunity that will allow me to show my worth. I’m working to try and return and then we’ll see.
“I’d never say never to anything – maybe in a few years I’ll become Palermo coach!”
