Tottenham were edged out for fourth place by Arsenal on the last day of the season and Bale spoke of his disappointment after picking up the club’s player of the season award.
“It was great to sign off with a great goal in the last minute, but circumstances made it hard to celebrate,” Bale said. “To play the way we have also but to miss out on our objective [Champions League qualification] is very disappointing.”
