Baptista failed to become a regular under Claudio Ranieri and Roma have signed Adriano this summer.
“In my first year at Roma everything went well, I played often and scored important goals, but then the arrival of the new coach changed things and he didn’t feel I was ready, it happens often in European football,” Baptista told La Repubblica.
“Will I remain at Roma? We will see. I am in South Africa now and my objective is to win the World Cup.
“I want to work hard so I can have more chances on the pitch.”
