He said: “It is a privilege to be selected. But I honestly can’t see myself winning it. But frankly it doesn’t worry me. I prefer the success of the players as a collective unit, rather than just for me.”
He added: “I would like to give it to a Spanish footballer, but if not, I would like Leo Messi to win because he is my team-mate and he has been exceptional for us.”
