The Brazilian left-sided defender has traveled to Paris to open talks with the French side over a move.
“Once Maxwell and PSG resolve the Brazilian’s contractual details, he will undergo a medical exam and the transfer will become official,” Barca said on their website on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old is expected to agree terms and sign for PSG before the weekend.
