Valdes came on as a half-time substitute in the 1-0 win over South Korea in Innsbruck.
“It’s a tremendous honour to make my debut with the national team. It is the dream of any Spanish player and today it has happened for me, so I’m very happy,” the 28-year-old declared to AS.
“The team is lucky to have three safe goalkeepers and the competition is also good for ourselves, which makes us better.”
