The Brazilian striker joined Barcelona in a €14million deal from Palmeiras in the summer of 2009 and the Spanish giants immediately sent the youngster out on loan to Benfica.
Keirrison told Globoesporte: “There were many clubs [after me].
“Benfica tabled an offer, and Barcelona accepted it. If I knew, I would have not have moved to Benfica. They had six or seven strikers, and I did not know that.
“We learn from life. Benfica are a big club in Europe, but there is no point in moving to a club with a lot of strikers because it is not by chance that they are there.”
Keirrison is currently on loan at Brazilian side Cruzeiro, but will return to Barcelona at the end of the year.
“I want to return and play,” he noted. “It does not have to be for a long time, but it would be a dream.
“When I return to Europe, I want to return to Barcelona, show my football there. That is my dream. Many fans ask me to return because a lot of people do not understand how I have not been able to get to play there.”
