Barcelona thump Real

Andrés Iniesta sliced Real apart for Xavi to dink over Iker Casillas for the first, before a 20 pass move ended with David Villa flashing a cross into the box which Pedro prodded home.

Villa then scored twice, the first a neat finish from a superb through ball by Lionel Messi, before the same combination united to allow Villa to score Barcelona’s fourth, with a sumptuous pass from the halfway line by the Argentine.

Barcelona still weren’t done and scored a fifth right at the end as Bojan put a cross into the box which Villa missed but Jeffren latched onto, making it five.

Sergio Ramos was then sent off for a red card for lashing out at Lionel Messi as Real lost their collective temperament. It was the heaviest defeat of José Mourinho’s career, as he found himself comprehensively outclassed by Pep Guardiola’s Catalans, who replace Real at the top of the league.
