The 24-year-old dropped his shorts after the match, in front of Everton supporters. Barton has requested a personal hearing, that will take place on Tuesday.
The FA said in a statement: “Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton has admitted a charge of improper conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute and requested a personal hearing.
“The charge related to Barton’s conduct following the final whistle of City’s match against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, September 30.
“A disciplinary commission will hear the case on Tuesday, October 10.”
