Gomez is confident of getting a win in their first game after the international break.
“It’s a must-win game for us and we have to take it seriously. It won’t be easy because the international break has disrupted our preparations,” Gomez told the club’s official website.
“Nevertheless, if we shut up shop at the back, we’re halfway there. We’re basically always going to score at the other end.”
Gomez has been struggling with a hamstring injury in recent days, but the striker insists he is fit for the clash with Freiburg.
He added: “The hamstring’s in good shape and I’ve now spent two days training with the rest of the team. I had to go easy Wednesday, but I gave it 100 percent again on Thursday, and there’s been no reaction.”
