Beattie has made just seven substitute appearances for Sheffield United since returning to the club for a second spell in November.
Beattie’s new deal will keep him at the club until the end of the League One season.
Manager Danny Wilson told the club’s official website: “He’s a quality player. We’re delighted to have him for what he brings us on and off the pitch.”
