The Belgian is reportedly expected to leave AZ Alkmaar at the end of the season after falling down the pecking order at the Dutch club.
“No, I haven’t heard anything from WBA,” Swerts told VoetbalPrimeur.nl.
“I don’t know where this is coming from. I went to see our technical director, but he didn’t know anything about it either. It comes out of nowhere.”
“I think that every player from the Eredivisie wants to play in England,” he added.
“The Premier League, but the Championship as well, is fantastic. A few friends of mine are playing in the Championship. Every now and then we speak to each other and they often tell me very positive things.
“The level of football is very, very high. Do I think I would fit in England? That is hard to tell. It’s a new competition, a different country.”
