Bellamy fears for place

The £10million signing from West Ham knows he will not be first choice at the club for long.

“The aim is to do as well as I can and establish this club in the top six,” admitted Bellamy. “Then, hopefully, to hang in there when better players come along.

“Then, if they need someone to clean their boots, I will do that as well! I am at my peak and City are going to get a couple of years out of me at my absolute top.

“When I am retired and seeing City competing for UEFA Champions Leagues, I want to know deep down that I was part of it from the early stages. That will give me great satisfaction.”
