The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the Latics for a long time and is expected to join them in the summer.
“To tell the truth I don’t know anything about my chances of moving to England,” he told Medio Tiempo.
“I am at Santos Laguna and if something appears it will be welcome but it has to be something good for me and for the club.
“At the moment I am focused in getting Santos into the play-offs.
“Of course if I am offered the chance to play in Europe I would like to have that chance but I have to keep on working very hard at my team to have a chance like that.”
