The Addicks skipper said: “The feeling in the dressing room was that we were delighted by the performance, but just gutted with the result.
“We ran our socks off and we only got a point – so anything less and we are not going to get anything.
“The lads will take a lot of positives from the game and that is going to stand us in good stead for Aston Villa on Saturday.”
Bent added: “The gaffer has come in and said that we need to really work hard.
“It is difficult when you have had so many managers in one season, but the lads have always stayed upbeat and tried to concentrate on what we were doing – that cannot change.
“If the fans are seeing us running around and trying our hardest to get something out of the game, they are going to get behind the team.
“Obviously in recent weeks we have let ourselves down by some of our performances and they have seen that.
“But anyone watching the performance against Fulham will know we are right up for it and we want to get out of the relegation zone.”
