The Sun reports that Blackburn are keen to bring in Pinto as a possible replacement for Chris Samba.
Samba is desperate to leave Blackburn, but were denied a move away form the club during the January transfer window.
Pinto will cost Blackburn around £1.5million.
The 22-year-old centre-back is currently on loan at Olhanense from Portuguese giants Porto.
