Maradona has been heavily linked with the role since Allardyce’s sacking as he is currently looking for work and has previously expressed an interest in managing in England.
Anuradha Desai, the chairwoman of Venky’s, Blackburn’s new owners, has confirmed that Maradona won’t be coming to the club.
“This is something from before we got into the EPL (English Premier League) – he knows one of our friends, but nothing beyond that. He is not being considered, not now and forever in the future. I can assure you there is nothing we are having to do with Maradona.”
