The 31-year-old has revealed that former Blackburn star Tugay persuaded him to join the Premier League side.
“I had contact with Blackburn for three months and I spoke to Tugay and he said it is a very good club and to come here and try the last few years,” Basturk told the club’s official website.
“I played about 50 games for the national team with Tugay and he always told me how good a club Blackburn is.”
