Blackpool boss rules out Liverpool move for Adam

Adam has been linked with a £3.5million move away from the club, with clubs such as Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Liverpool reportedly interested in the 25-year-old.

“I think he enjoys his football, I think he’s very flattered that other people want him and I’ve told him how good he is and who he should go to,” Holloway told Sky Sports.

“Until those people come in, great clubs with great situations at the moment, then I don’t think he should go anywhere at the moment because we’re a good team, the crowd loves him, the players love him and he’s part of a very successful team at the moment.

“Hopefully he’ll agree with me and we’ll have a look at it in the summer, because in the summer it’s a totally different kettle of fish.

“He’s got a year left on his contract, the swing will go to him and maybe to his agent. But I think he can help us stay in this division.

“We’re a well run club and we don’t need any awkward phone calls. If people think they’re going to get Charlie Adam for £3.5million, I’m ever so sorry.

“Charlie’s a fantastic player and I believe by the end of the season there’s hardly anyone in that division who will be worth more than him, particularly not to us.

“I think he owes us, the Blackpool fans, his team-mates, myself, he owes us to stay here until the end of the season and I think it will be right for him. Unless Man United ring me up and give me a ridiculous offer, because I believe he’s good enough for them as well.”
