Blackpool boss slams referee

In a crunch tie at the bottom of the table, with both sides on 33 points following the draw, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway claims a goal each from both sides shouldn’t have stood.

He said: “I thought the referee had a bit of a stinker. Was [our goal] a penalty? I don’t think so.”

“But it shouldn’t be balanced out with more bad decisions at the end and it was, unfortunately.”

Blackpool’s penalty came on the quarter hour mark, and was quickly followed up by Charlie Adams, completing his brace. Samba netted for Blackburn after the interval, and his side piled on the pressure but looked to leave empty handed before their 93rd minute free kick.

A bundled clearance from the Blackpool defence left Hoilett with an easy finish, leaving both sides only a point above the relegation zone.
