Holloway is considering making a January move for the former England star, according to the Mirror.
Blackpool came close to signing Nugent on loan in the summer, but the deal fell through because they could not get hold of the striker to discuss terms.
Holloway said: “If the player hadn’t gone missing we’d have had David Nugent.
“With 20 minutes to go we had Nugent signed on, but no-one could locate him, so he couldn’t sign his contract and it all fell through.”
