The England Under-21 midfielder has joined Blackpool on loan until the end of the year, but Liverpool have the option to activate a 24-hour recall clause after 28 days.
Shelvey is expected to go straight into Blackpool’s squad to face Bristol City this Saturday.
The youngster joined Liverpool in a £2million deal from Charlton in April 2010.
