South Korean starlet Lee Chung-young, Aston Villa’s Zat Knight and Swansea ace Ferrie Bodde are Megson’s reported targets.
“We are really close to getting three transfers sorted, and we need them, because this squad is nowhere near strong enough,” Megson told the Bolton News.
“(Club chairman) Phil Gartside has got a list of players who I feel would strengthen us, and there are also the names of players who we would allow to leave the club, but we have got to get a lot busier if that is to happen.
“This is going to be a vitally important transfer window for us if we intend to move forward, and ideally I’d like to be a bit further down the road than we are right now.”
