Al Habsi joined the Latics on a season-long loan from Bolton last month.
“At the moment, I’m full of confidence and loving every minute of being at Wigan Athletic,” he told the club’s official website.
“I feel as though I’ve been here three years not three months. Everyone associated with the club has been fantastic, the facilities are superb and it’s been like one big family.
“It was a great point for us at Birmingham, and for myself it was important to keep a clean sheet. All the lads played to a high level and could well have come away with all three points.
“We’ve played two games away from home now and picked up four points which will give us plenty of confidence when we have to travel away again, and it’ll also give us momentum going into Saturday’s match against Wolves.”
